4.0 formed in August 2011, after Gavin and Ted met while singing in Seattle's Illumni Men's Chorale.  Gavin brought Tyson on board not long after the quartet formed, and Ira, Ted's good friend and former quartet mate, joined the group in May, 2012.  4.0 represented the Evergreen District at  the International Barbershop Quartet Contest in Toronto (2013).  Fresh off their second appearance on the International stage in Pittsburgh (2015), 4.0 won the Evergreen District Quartet contest a few months later. The quartet competed at the 2016 International contest, in Nashville, TN, placing in the top 25, and most recently qualified to compete at the upcoming 2017 International contest in Las Vegas, NV.
